THE ASSESSMENT IMPACTS OF BIOCHAR SUBSTRATE FOR FERTILITY OF RHODIC FERRALSOLS AND THE YIELD OF BRASSICA JUNCEA IN LAM DONG PROVINCE

Abstract

Two experiments, a greenhouse and a field trial were done to determine the efficacy of two strains of Klebsiella pneumoniae HKN1 and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria Pantoea agglomerans HP2 on the growth and yield of rice variety OM545 at Hieu Phung commune, Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province. These experiments in the net house and the field were carried out in Autumn-Winter crop of the year 2016, with 14 treatments and 4 replications. The experiments
were arranged in a completely randomized design in the net house and a randomized complete block design under the field condition. Experimental
results in the net house and the field showed that rice inoculated with individual strain of nitrogen fixation or phosphate-solubilizing bacteria or when inoculated with both strains of nitrogen fixation and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria and applied 75% N and 75% P2O5, leaf color index,  plant height, length of root, dry weight of root, dry weight of stems and leaves were not statistically significant difference compared to those of treatments used 100% N-100% P2O5 and without inoculation. Besides, in the field, dry weight of straw, number of shoots, length of panicle, panicle/m2, the percent of filled grain, 1000-grain weight and grain yield were not statistically significant difference compared to those of treatments used 100% N-100% P2O5 and without inoculation. Rice inoculated with of both strains of nitrogen fixation and phosphate-solubilizing bacteria with applied 75% N, 0% -75% P2O5, grew well and the yield was not significant difference compared to those of treatments used 100% N-100% P2O5 and without inoculation, which were applied at 91 kg N/ha and 55 kg P2O5 due to local recommendations. Therefore, cultivating rice variety OM5451 inoculated with individual or of both strains of nitrogen fixing bacteria and phosphatesolubilizing bacteria, the amount of 25% N and 0% -75% P2O5 could be reduced. Besides, rice production cost was reducded and minimized the environmental pollution.
